A good hotel for exploring the region | Reviewed on June 9th, 2016

The Cipreses is a fair and affordable hotel in a good position.
In terms of quality the Cipresss is a good mid-range option for the area.
It is well positioned, about ten minutes’ walk from Santa Elena. The walk back is a lung-busting trek of at least twice that.
It serves a basic breakfast that is adequate rather than comprehensive. They do not provide lunch or dinner but there are many eateries in walking distance. Do try the Sabo Tico which is not in town but West of the hotel, opposite the football ground.
The staff are really helpful and will help you to book local activities. You must try the zip wiring: it’s incredible!
One last attraction is that there is a resident sloth in the trees behind the hotel. It’s not there every day, but when it is you can get some cracking photos.
